The 2025 Club Tennis Championships brought brilliant matches, big smiles, and a new tournament format that packed all the action into just two days — with matches on Saturday and all finals on Sunday.
Organised by Luke Pattinson, with support from our coaching team and tennis committee, the event was a great success — made even more impressive given the wild weather! Saturday saw sweltering heat, while Sunday brought a cooler breeze and the occasional gust of wind. But that didn’t stop some outstanding tennis being played across the board.
Off court, the BBQ was sizzling and the Pimms flowing on Saturday, while Sunday’s spectators and players were treated to a free buffet kindly prepared by Katie and supported by the club. Huge thanks to Brian and the bar staff for keeping everyone refreshed and fed throughout.
We were especially thrilled to see so many new members competing — and winning!
The trophies were presented by Club President Colin Wiseman, and Luke (rightly!) received a bottle of champagne for masterminding the whole event.
