Club Championships Finals Day July 20th

The BSC tennis finals day will be on Saturday July 20th.   The sign up sheets for all categories are now up on the noticeboard so please sign up when you can be it for singles, doubles or both. It is always a wonderful day in our club annual calendar and this year we will be having some evening entertainment more of which is to follow shortly so please do keep your eyes out for more information.

If anyone would like to buy a tin of second hand tennis balls (used once previously for a match) they are £3 and can be purchased from behind the bar or in the office

Airhall Bookings Take Down Date
The club has decided to take down the airhall later than usual this year and the planned date is currently May 21st.  This is so that during the initial period of construction of the padel and clay courts there can be guaranteed non weather and light dependant play at the club in the indoor facility.  Booking charges will apply as normal throughout April and more information will be shared about the May booking fees shortly
Summer Social Tennis Sessions – UPDATE
Please can tennis members keep their eyes out for changes to the social tennis sessions during the construction work for padel and our clay courts.  We are trying to maintain as much of previously planned social play, member play and coaching but there will have to be a few changes made in the short term.  We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause
The session times have been distributed to the whatsapp groups and will be added to this newsletter going forward

Any new members wishing to join the club social groups are more than welcome. You will notice that each group is set up for play ability. Please attend the group which you believe best suits your ability, or ask the coaches for assistance.  While the new Sunday session gets started a rep will be there from the committee to welcome attendees for the first few weeks.

Cornwallis Cup Final
Congratulations to the 1st team who beat Mote 4-0 in the final last night. The individual results were:
Michael Chak won 3-1, Lewis Ryall won 3-0, Max Tunon won 3-0 , Sam Stabler won 3-2.
Thanks to all those who came to support the team.
Racketball Club Championships 
Entries are now open for the three racketball competitions and can be found on the noticeboard behind the court 2 balcony.

National Inter County Finals
Congratulations to Amy Beevers, Jazz Burroughs and Eva Camicia who represented Kent this weekend in the National Inter Counties Finals.
Jazz played for Kents A team in the Main Finals and the team came 3rd , losing in the semis to the winners Hampshire.  Amy and Eva played in the B team contesting the Plate finals and also finished 3rd. Fantastic achievements and all credit to the girls.

Terms & Conditions

Membership Cards – Membership cards are provided by the Club office which provide access to the club if the doors that are locked and provide discounted member prices at the bar.  useful.  Membership cards can be provided for the junior members and the family.  If you do not have a card/require additional cards please email the club office on

Off Peak Tennis – When joining on an Off peak all day Tennis membership, this means you have the ability to play and book tennis courts throughout Monday to Friday all day. There is no ability to play or book courts at weekends.

Off Peak Squash – When joining on an Off peak Squash membership, this means you have the ability to play and book courts throughout Monday to Thursday up until 5pm and all day Friday and Sundays.  There is no ability to play or book courts at other times.

Squash Lighting Fee – Your yearly membership fee does not include your lighting fees. 45 minutes is £4.45 and 60 minutes is £6. This will be paid via direct debit on a monthly basis. 

Tennis Outdoor Floodlight Fee – Your yearly membership fee does not include your flood light fees. This is paid after daylight hours at £8 per hour. This is paid via direct debit on a monthly basis.

Tennis Air hall Indoor Fees – Hourly off peak after 7pm – £16, All other times – £20 per hour. Only available while the air hall is inflated. 

Bring guests with you – You are able to bring guests to play with you for a fee of £4. Guests are only able to come with you up to 3 times in the space of a 2 month period before being required to join as a member. Fees are taken on a Direct Debit on a monthly basis.

Safeguarding – BSC operates policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people and we operate in accordance with the ECB guidelines. Further information about our safeguarding arrangements are visible around the club and on our website,   Our Club welfare officer is Julia Conway and can be called on 0798 9393952.

Data Protection – The data protection law requires us to inform you how we deal with your data.  It also requires us to ask some specific questions relating to how we use it.

How we store it – All information you give us on your application forms is stored on our server. Our server is secure and has a firewall in place. The data is also encrypted.

How we use it: – We will use your information for club related purposes only. We will send you information regarding club activities, developments and club business.

CHILDREN UNDER 16: – We do not contact children directly and only contact them through the parent. We do not take details of children’s mobile numbers or email addresses. Any details displayed apart from the name will be that of a parent. 

WILL EVERYONE HAVE ACCESS? – We will not sell or give your details to any third parties.  However, it may be useful for other members to have details of your phone number or email details for you and your family.  This may be for say, squash or tennis leagues, tournaments, teams, arranging ladder matches, arranging friendly matches or other such happenings. Once you are a member you can go to the booking site and change the settings yourself if you change your mind.
