Tennis Newsletter


We would like to invite you all to our Christmas Cup Tennis event here at Bromley Sports Club on Thursday 21st December 1.00-5.00PM. A fun competition where children will be split into ages and levels, playing a variety of matches and games to earn points for their team. This event is here to cater for everyone so don’t worry if you haven’t played in a competition before or are not greatly experienced.

The 4 teams will be:





Certificates and Prizes will be given after the activities You will also see some exhibition doubles matches played by some of our top juniors who represent Kent. Following having some food, we will have our annual awards giving for our junior players for their performances, effort and improvements in 2023.

Format of the event:

1.00-1.15 – Arrival, organised into teams and warm up

1.15 – 3.15 – Tennis matches and games

3.15 – 3.45 – Break, exhibition Doubles matches and prize giving

3.45-4.15 – Food upstairs in the function room and bar area

4.15-4.45 – Junior Tennis awards

4.45-5.00 – Collection

The box leagues are now up on the board – we hope everyone enjoys playing their matches in the coming weeks

Christmas Holiday Camps

We are now taking bookings for our Christmas tennis camp for children aged 5 to 11 years old. We will be running these over 2 weeks and will consist of tennis games in the morning and an afternoon of team games

Tennis Balls To Buy

If anyone would like to buy a tin of second hand tennis balls (used once previously for a match) they are £3 and can be purchased from behind the bar or in the office

Any new members wishing to join the club social groups are more than welcome. You will notice that each group is set up for play ability. Please attend the group which you believe best suits your ability, or ask the coach’s for assistance. Thank you



Great Way to put into practice what the players have done in their lessons. We would like to encourage all of our juniors to do some form of competition to help their tennis progress to the next level. Also a fun way to meet new friends!

Events may be split into different categories of ability where appropriate. All events are mixed gender. Start times may be staggered slightly so look out for an email 24 hours before with your exact start time. Prizes for winners and runners-up

Squash & Racketball Newsletter

Tony Davies – Club Captain Squash & Racketball

The first round of racketball leagues have now been completed. Fixture completion was incredibly high across all 3 leagues with only one match not played out of the 20 scheduled games. Well done to Keeley Johnson for winning League 1. The new leagues are now out and and on the noticeboard outside court 2.

Squash & Racketball Committee
The Committee met recently to discuss issues such as next year’s Club Championships, court maintenance, etc. The minutes of the meeting are available to all members. They can be requested via the committee email –
Winter Priory Leagues
Last nights 1st team match was cancelled.
2nd team are playing tomorrow night (Thursday) away to Poultwood
Steve Franks – Head Coaching Professional
Good luck to Bullers Wood Girls today who are playing their first match in the ESR National Schools Tournament. All the girls, Eva, Lily, Diwya, Reem and Jemima are members of our Junior club. 
This Saturday is the next round of Kent Junior Team League matches.  Our 1st team, away to Park Langley, 2nd team away to Sundridge Park, 3rd team home to Tunbridge Wells 1 and 4th team away to Tunbridge Wells 2.
Good luck to our juniors and will report back next week.  Sunday, sees the Bromley Sports Junior Bronze tournament.. If you want to enter, please contact Steve Franks

Terms & Conditions

Membership Cards – Membership cards are provided by the Club office which provide access to the club if the doors that are locked and provide discounted member prices at the bar.  useful.  Membership cards can be provided for the junior members and the family.  If you do not have a card/require additional cards please email the club office on

Off Peak Tennis – When joining on an Off peak all day Tennis membership, this means you have the ability to play and book tennis courts throughout Monday to Friday all day. There is no ability to play or book courts at weekends.

Off Peak Squash – When joining on an Off peak Squash membership, this means you have the ability to play and book courts throughout Monday to Thursday up until 5pm and all day Friday and Sundays.  There is no ability to play or book courts at other times.

Squash Lighting Fee – Your yearly membership fee does not include your lighting fees. 45 minutes is £4.45 and 60 minutes is £6. This will be paid via direct debit on a monthly basis. 

Tennis Outdoor Floodlight Fee – Your yearly membership fee does not include your flood light fees. This is paid after daylight hours at £8 per hour. This is paid via direct debit on a monthly basis.

Tennis Air hall Indoor Fees – Hourly off peak after 7pm – £16, All other times – £20 per hour. Only available while the air hall is inflated. 

Bring guests with you – You are able to bring guests to play with you for a fee of £4. Guests are only able to come with you up to 3 times in the space of a 2 month period before being required to join as a member. Fees are taken on a Direct Debit on a monthly basis.

Safeguarding – BSC operates policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people and we operate in accordance with the ECB guidelines. Further information about our safeguarding arrangements are visible around the club and on our website,   Our Club welfare officer is Julia Conway and can be called on 0798 9393952.

Data Protection – The data protection law requires us to inform you how we deal with your data.  It also requires us to ask some specific questions relating to how we use it.

How we store it – All information you give us on your application forms is stored on our server. Our server is secure and has a firewall in place. The data is also encrypted.

How we use it: – We will use your information for club related purposes only. We will send you information regarding club activities, developments and club business.

CHILDREN UNDER 16: – We do not contact children directly and only contact them through the parent. We do not take details of children’s mobile numbers or email addresses. Any details displayed apart from the name will be that of a parent. 

WILL EVERYONE HAVE ACCESS? – We will not sell or give your details to any third parties.  However, it may be useful for other members to have details of your phone number or email details for you and your family.  This may be for say, squash or tennis leagues, tournaments, teams, arranging ladder matches, arranging friendly matches or other such happenings. Once you are a member you can go to the booking site and change the settings yourself if you change your mind.
